The ancient Basques assumed that neither believing in the existence of the mythological creatures, nor denying them is the way to understand them.
After all, according to the old belief, everything that has a name, does exist. Each thing has its name, each name corresponds to a thing.
Izen Izan is the first case of implementation of the Bosc project, which aims to build an abstract environment through a conceptual interpretation of the forest as a context for action and immersion.

What is a forest?
A forest is much more than a sum of trees, it is the immersive experience built out of their fusion, where confusion and freedom overlap in infinitely intertwining perspectives. Bosc is a proposal to interpret the spatiotemporal qualities of a forest in order to create a psychologically activated environment, where the simplicity of the steel structure draws multiple perspectives, where one can get lost and can find an intense sequence of englobing narratives.

In the Izen Izan installation, the audience moves freely inside the forest, where the audios and the illumination build a narrative in which the different mythological creatures from the Basque culture emerge. The installation offers an immersive cultural exploration, which brings the visitor back to the roots of the local mythology.
